Oh The Weather Outside...

Is cold and snowy. Yeah I don't think last night when we were watching the news they thought we were going to get as much snow as we did. Snow is everywhere....someone in a SUV hit a parked uhaul. Not only was it a parked uhaul but it was parked in the parking lot and the SUV that hit it wasn't originally (before they slid into it) in the parking lot. Hope that made sense.

Last night Brent and I had a date night which meant Grandma Vicki was graced with Makenna's presence for a few hours. We went out for some pizza and then went to the dollar theater to see "I Am Legend". A good movie, I jumped quite a few times, and cried a few times. We both really liked it.

This week I managed to make it to the gym a few times (woohoo!). I still haven't had a migraine since the day I went to see the doctor about them (and that was the first in 2 weeks). I really think that the omega 3 supplement has done it, I use to get multiple migraines a week, at least 2 and now...not-a.

Makenna is doing great, yesterday she said apple and it seems like she is learning and saying new words each day. Today she did #1 and #2 on the big potty! Woohoo! Go Makenna! She is pretty much of the toddler tantrum stage at the moment, luckily a couple of time outs and she understands what behavior is or is not acceptable. She is able to help pick up when you ask her to, she pretends to vacuum, tries to help with dishes, and acts like she is putting on makeup. She brushes her teeth everyday (even the chipped one, lol) and helps me lotion her after her baths.

We don't have much planned for this weekend, just gonna relax and play it by ear. I can't believe February is almost over. I am waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer so all the flowers that I planted last year can start growing and blooming.

Next week is my birthday and I've finally decided where I want to go and celebrate with dinner. We'll be going to the Sunsinger Cafe, they have tapas, fondue, cheese plates...all kinds of good stuff. The big 24....or the little 6.

Taaadaaa

So we decided to just drop on in to the picture place instead of going in on Tuesday since Brent took the day off today. The pictures turned out really great! We did spend more than we were going to but really we had a ton of great shots. The only thing I have to complain about is on the cd they sell you, you get low resolution photos while they encrypt the regular photos for them. But the price really wasn't that bad, we spent $100 and got prints of 6 poses with 3 sheets of photos for each pose and the cd. The photos were printed super fast and are a great quality! So anyone out there, portrait innovations, great, try them out!

ALL the pictures taken today are posted on our photo site!

Hear Ye Hear Ye....

Labwork is in from our doctor appointments! And drumroll pleeeeease.....I've lowered my cholesterol! Yay! My total cholesterol before was 231 and now it is 198! Normal is anything under 200. I also lowered my bad cholesterol, and triglycerides while raising my good cholesterol! Yay! I've been taking an omega 3 supplement as well as half of a Promise Active Supershot everyday. Occasionally I will try to eat oatmeal on a semi-regular basis but I fall off the bandwagon fairly quickly. I've done the super shots for a couple of months now and the omega for about a month. Neither are very expensive so if you want to try them they have seemed to have worked on me! And no surprise, Brent's cholesterol was fine and much lower than mine.

Tuesday we have an appointment at the new photo place in the mall, it's been over a year since we last had a family photo taken. Honestly I wouldn't be having it done if it wasn't as inexpensive as it is. It's like 10 bucks, the pose you choose and you get tons of pictures! One - 10 x 13, Two - 8 x 10’s, Four - 5 x 7’s, Four - 3 x 5’s, 32 Wallets and 6 portrait cards. No sitting fees, no gimmicks. Plus they print your pictures at the store, so you don't have to wait a month for some lab to print them. I'll let you know how it goes!

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! Brent and I were able to get reservations at The Great Impasta, and for reason I think I mentioned this in another post. Grandma Vicki is babysitting, then we are planning on catching a movie and maybe going to Boltini for wonderful MARTINIS, and they have a great cheese plate!

And for those that hadn't noticed yet or weren't sure, Yes, Makenna does have her ears pierced now. She likes to play with mine and if you give her something round she will hang it on her ear like an earring. The other day while she was playing with my earrings I asked her if she wanted earrings and she said yeah. So we drove on down to Sally's I picked up a self piercing kit (studs loaded into spring loaded plastic dodads and sterilzed), we did it at home (I've had piercings from both guns used commercially and the plastic spring thing and the plastic things hurts much less!), I did it, she cried not long at all (they didn't bleed, didn't swell and weren't red). They hurt when she touched them that night but since then they don't cause her any pain and we rotate them daily to help with the healing process. And they look so cute!

We Know We Are Alive....

Yep, so says the Doctor! Yesterday we had our doctor appointments, with our new Christie doctor and we really really liked her! She was nothing short of awesome! I was able to talk to her about my migraines, and she was able to empathize b/c she herself also get migraines. Brent and I also had our blood sucked by the lab too, cholesterol and blood glucose.

After our doctor appointments we buzzed back home to pick up Nerm for her appointment. Dr. Davis wasn't in the office but Dr. Hill was filling in for him, Dr. Hill was great and someday Makenna and I may see her at the Library Lap time as she has a daughter a little older and was looking for activities to do!

Grandma Vicki was nice enough to babysit Makenna yesterday while we doctor appointmenting and running all around town. This way Makenna could get a nap in and we could go to the Factory Stores later in the day! So we did make it to Tuscola and had some shopping! Rue 21 has lots of $3 racks! So I picked up a dress, a dressy top and some dress capris. I also picked up some great new shoes that I love! I looooove stilettos, what can I say.
These are the shoes but mine are a chocolate brown:

We've got some new pictures up, especially the ones of Makenna opening her Valentines Day present!

Feeling A Little Foggy

Actually I'm not but apparently Mother Nature is! I can barely see across the street, really.

This week is kinda a busy one with voting, doctor appointments, dinner with Dad and a Vet appointment!

Yesterday Grandma Vicki and Uncle Chris came over to watch the Superbowl! We had lots of tastey food, BLTs, guac & chips, wienies, corn chowder and cupcakes! Yumm! We also watched the puppy bowl on Animal planet, Makenna preferred that to the football, lol.

Brent and I made the mistake of going to Walmart for our weekly grocery shopping trip on Saturday, it was terrible. People just standing or talking on a cell phone cause they aren't really shopping they are just buying junk food or talking to someone on the cell phone about buying junk food. I get frustrated when I am around a lot of people, my problem.

Anywho, some new photos are up!

Hip Hip Hooray! Lots of Snow Today!

Wooohoo, yesterday and last night we ended up getting a total of almost 8 inches of snow! Yayyyy! So everyone closed around town and we started a three day weekend! Brent worked from home part of the day, Grandma Vicki came over to see Makenna earlier and we all went to lunch! To PEEP oh yeah and then RUBENS!

I'm proud of myself, this week I made it to the gym twice, the library, tanning and yesterday Makenna and I went to a playgroup meetup so she could get her play on with other kiddos (and I could get my talk on with other Mommys). Makenna is doing well, she managed to pull the stocking holder down on herself the other day. She now has two scratches on her forehead. Today she tripped on the way to the car and then cried b/c she managed to get her hand in snow and...yes, it was cold.

Last night we were suppose to go to dinner with Dad but earlier that morning he cancelled because of the weather that was coming. So last night we went out just by ourselves, fairing the storm. Really it wasn't that bad for us b/c of the four wheel drive.

Let's see what else. Oh, today I got my samples of Everyday Minerals that I ordered. Four bucks, 5 samples, BIG samples! I really like products that they have. My foundation from the other place that I order from is too dark right now b/c 1. it's winter 2. I was lazy and hadn't tanned in forever. So if I was going to buy new foundation, it was going to be cheap. ANYWAY...I ordered the Light, beige neutral, and the fair medium. I really like the first two but the last one is too pinky for me. I also got the weekend getaway blush and the sunlight concealer, I really liked both. All the foundations I ordered in the glo formulation, I'd like the to try the semi-matte but haven't. I think thier products feel better and silkier than the other one I had so I'm happy! Everyday Minerals, if you haven't tried it, do so! (No I'm not a paid spokesperson, lol)

Shout out to Chris for doing so great this past week on the weight loss, you guys are doing great!

Ps- spell check wasn't working so I apologize! AND all you people out there that don't update thier blogs (ie-Cathy and Mom), shame on you! They are lonely!
