Monday...Monday...

It's Monday. Last week we went to dinner with Dad & Patty. We had a nice time visiting and eating, yum Famous Daves. Makenna was quite shy as she usually is when she meets someone she doesn't remember.

We had a nice weekend, taking it sloooow. Friday it started with Dosssssss and then we headed to campus for some much needed gelato. We decided to get some at The Creperie, Blackberry & Pineapple, realllly good. Saturday we ventured to the Cake Artist Studio for....cake. Three mini cakes, a turtle brownie (oh my word! they are dangerous), and some cookies later...we left with our spoils. We headed over to Homerdepot in search of a Sorbet Peonie, which they didn't have. Afterwards we went home b/c Makenna was feeling a little under the weather. Sunday I went to Prairie Gardens in search of the elusive peonie (they didn't have it either!). So instead I bought some annuals of many colors and wandered through the many greenhouses, I've still not been in all of them (and I was there for an hour). Twenty dollars later I left with a flat of plants.

Makenna is doing well and is growing everyday. We are currently learning animals and the sounds they make. She has cow and moo down (yeah we live in the midwest). We are working on duck and frog. After meals we do numbers and colors (they are on her place mat). She just likes to point at the numbers while you say (and not the right ones at that). We are still working on the potty, sometimes she asks to sit on it but the reoccurring theme seems to be a lack of "business", lol. We have two books we read while she is perched, the monkey book and the bathe one baby book.

And according to the news-gazette we are getting a Charlotte Russe in the mall, yay! It's a clothing store that I LOVE to shop at when we are out of town. And the cake bar is opening this week too.

Shake, Rattle & Roll

Soooo....an earthquake, 5.2 even. Did everyone else feel it? How about the aftershock at 4.6? Yep, those were a first for me! Makenna slept through both! We are fine, the house is fine.

I have a few pictures but I have a new battery for the camera coming to me. The old one is really worn out and you can only take about 10 pics on a full charge before it is drained. So that is my excuse for not putting up pictures today.

Wanted:

Wanted: The Green Heron that stole one of my fishies out of my pond yesterday morning. He showed up a couple of days ago but only recent MURDERED (ok, so he has to eat) one of the beloved pond swimmers.

For all of you that were concerned about me when I was sick, I'm fine now. Yeah, I didn't think anyone knew I was sick either. Last Thursday Brent took off work to take care of me b/c Wednesday night I was greener than a frog and managed to vomit anything and everything known to nourish me. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep and was dry heaving, I finally took some zofran I had from my pregnancy with Makenna. Much better afterwards.

Last weekend we didn't do much b/c the weather was so cold (thank you snow). We did manage to venture to the mall for a little entertainment. Makenna played in the little play center there. She also had her first hug...from a boy...really. She wasn't very interested in him but boy, (ha, no pun intended) he was interested in her! After hugging her, he took her by the hand and led her to his parents, lol. She must be one hot chick!

Yesterday it was nice out so Mom, Makenna and I went to Krannert to hear some Celtic, Irish music for FREE. It was really nice and there were quite a few kids. Makenna and I made really tasty chocolate chip cookies for Brent! She learned how to say cookie yesterday, lol, as she was looking in the oven watching them bake. She also asks you now "Can you see it". Other phrases she says are "It's a baby" and "That's so cute", she will say please when she wants something and just started saying "Um" (we apparently use that a lot). After the cookies were baked she ran around the house repeating cookie over and over again, she also stole one off the counter. She learned to say UP yesterday and a couple of days ago, PURPLE. Last night we roamed around the backyard and Makenna played on her swingset. Afterwards Brent had fun catching some of the those birds that look like PLASTIC BAGS, oh wait, those were plastic bags. Anyways, the trees are bag free now. Makenna got to ride around in the wheel barrow, lol, I needed it in the front yard and she needed to get there too. I raked some leaves out of the front yard (as well as picking up litter) while Brent and Makenna walked around on the sidewalk, then played on the porch swing.

This weekend is Mom's birthday and we have a cookout planned. Ribs with all the good sides and CAKE. I've been wanting some cake FOREVER...I've been watching this wedding show and it just makes you want the wedding cake..every time. Anyhow, hopefully it doesn't rain! Sunday we are suppose to meet up with some friends that we haven't seen in about 6 months, they have a little girl that is about a year older than Makenna. It is suppose to be nice out so we are going to meet up in a park and do a little exploring!

And I don't have any picture posted yet...but I wiiiillll, sometime.

Relaxing...

Well, I'm relaxing after last weekend. Saturday night we had Megan's bachlorette party. It was a blast, we went to dinner at Miko. Afterwards we came back here to put on our "special" t-shirts, open gifts and had some dessert. Then we headed over to Boltini to get our drink on..and Cowboy Monkey, Esquire, Guidos. They shouted last call and we headed ove to Merry Ann's for some breakfast.

After everyone had left yesterday I got cleaned up and we went to lunch with Chris and Lara. Then that evening we had a little cookout with some hot dogs and a campfire. I was finally able to get much needed sleep last night!

The weather is suppose to be really nice this week and all the trees are starting to bud. I also noticed that the daffodils are very close to blooming out! This weekend I put on my rubber boots to do some wading in the pond, I fished out some rocks, cleaned the pond filter and found a better place to relocate it. I was able to move it quite far from the power outlet b/c I bought some new tubing at Prarie Gardens the other day.
