Ok so it isn't turkey day yet....but who isn't excited already and looking forward to it!? Hopefully everyone had a nice weekend! We did especially with Illinois winning the football Saturday against Northwestern.
Saturday we visited a little with Grandma Vicki before heading over to Rental City (when you need it now, not eternally, just rent it, yeah that is the song.) to pick up our floor sanding kit. It came with the drum sander and an edger and PAPER, three grits. We started sanding the guest room at about 5:30 or 6-ish and finished for the night at 2am. At that point we had our first coat of poly on. Don't EVER EVER EVER glue carpet to hardwood floor, please. It took us forever to get it off, we just sanded it off because we didn't want to do it by hand, 6 coarse grit papers later, it was almost off. We did find out however that mineral spirits did a pretty good job of getting it off. I managed to accidentally drop the can of it, leaking about 1/3rd of it on the floor. Sunday we put two more coats of poly on the guest room floor and started on the wood room floor, we started about 11am and finished the wood room at 6pm. So we have two coats left to put on the wood room floor.
Grandma Vicki and Chris came over and babysat Makenna for a little bit while we polyed (haha, new word) the floor and then we went and had some pizza to celebrate the sore bodies we have today.
Here are some before and afters:

I've posted new photos on Shutterfly, just follow the link like usual. We have more photos of floors on there too if you are interested!
